Our Apostolate

About Us

The Catholic Legate is a lay-run Apostolate dedicated to defending the Catholic faith as understood by the perennial Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Our staff membership is comprised of both Canadian and American citizens. We are committed to offering authentic Catholic teaching in order to help re-evangelize our paganized North American and western culture. We pledge filial obedience to the Vicar of Christ on earth, Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI.

Mission

The mission of The Catholic Legate is to advance and propagate the truth of the Catholic faith to everyone. Our apostolate seeks to be broad in scope dealing with issues which affect today's society and their impact on Christianity and the Catholic Church. Issues related to Apologetics, Philosophy, History, Politics and Morality are some of the areas we shall seek to cultivate in the coming years. Following the Pope John Paul II's call for a new evangelization, our Apostolate seeks to revitalize the Catholic faith in Canada and the world so that an authentic Christian culture can begin to develop. Please keep us in your prayers as we win souls for the Bride of Christ. This Apostolate is under the patronage of St. Francis de Sales, St. Joseph, the patron saint of Canada, the Holy Canadian Martyrs.

Saints Isaacs Jogues, Jean de Brebeuf, Charles Garnier, Anthony Danile, Gabriel Lallemant, Noel Chabanel, Jean de Lalande and Rene Goupil.

Staff

Most of the staff of The Catholic Legate are amateurs and cannot be considered experts. However, despite our lack of official "expert" status, our visitors and patrons can expect cogent and competent opinions on matters related to the Catholic Faith. Many of our members have decades of knowledge and experience in defending and teaching the Catholic faith. We are also blessed with some members who have had formal training in the sacred sciences, while most others have been published in reputable periodicals. To our knowledge, we are the only Catholic Apologetics internet apostolate which stretches across international borders.

Support

What profit a man if he gain the whole world, but lose his soul? That's the real question, is it not? After a man's temporal needs are taken care of, the job is hardly finished. In fact, it's just started. We then need to turn our attention to addressing his spiritual well being, and that includes leading him into the fullness of truth which is found only in the Catholic Church. It does no good to feed him and take care of his temporal needs - only to allow false religions and philosophies to claim and starve his soul. If that happens, who cares about a few years of temporal relief? You might have won the temporal battle, but you have certainly lost the spiritual war. And, in the end, the latter one is what really counts.

Like most religious apostolates and ministries, we receive no funding from church or government groups. Our existence depends on your generous support and patronage. Man might not be able to live on bread alone, but we still need the bread, man! So please be generous in helping us advance the Catholic faith in Canada and around the world. Creed

We firmly believe and boldly profess all defined dogmas of the Holy Roman Catholic Church.
We hold to and abide by all Catholic moral teaching with no exception.
We support the propagation of only the Catholic Faith and the conversion of all people to this Faith.
We respect permissible differing views in theological or moral areas. Permissibility is determined by the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
We are loyal and obedient to the bishop of Rome in all things. Should there be a difficulty in trying to reconcile a current Magisterial teaching with a previous one, we propose to look positively on the current teaching, and do our best as amateur Catholic laymen to reconcile both views.
